Housing
Community Development oversees the orderly growth of the community though implementation of the City's General Plan, Zoning, Building Regulation, Economic Development and through its many housing programs. The Department is divided into several divisions including Economic Development, Planning, Building, and Housing.
Economic Development
Economic Development administers business development in the redevelopment, downtown, commercial and industrial area of the city promoting the highest and best land use.
Planning
Planning actively promotes land use development standards by advancing the policies and programs of the General Plan through a business friendly approach.
Building and Safety
Building and Safety monitors the City's Municipal Code and responds to resident building concerns while reviewing plans and inspecting building projects.
Housing
The Housing Division utilizes Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to improve residential neighborhoods and provide affordable housing units in the community. Housing also monitors a Senior Paint/ Fix Up program to maintain the exterior appearance of homes occupied by low income senior residents.
