Downey Landing Project
Economic Development administers business development in the redevelopment, downtown, commercial and industrial area of the city. Assistance programs are used to help businesses locate, grow and prosper in the community. Quality businesses create a vibrant community and generate revenues in forms of retail sales and property tax revenue needed to support city services.
The department also oversees the development of the 160 acre Downey Landing Project that includes a 30 acre Kaiser hospital complex; a 34 acre a retail shopping center; a 78 acre film studio; and a 13 acre Public Park and Learning Center.
