HOLI-DAY CAMP FOR YOUTH
The City of Downey Community Services Department is offering two distinct winter camps - one for youth ages 6-14 plus a "Camp for Champs" for ages 6-18 from December 26-28 & December 31 - January 4 at Wilderness Park, 10999 Little Lake road. The fee for each camp is $80 a week, $75 for a second child from the same family. Extended care is also available for $35 and $30 for a second family member. The weekly fees include supervision, lunch beverage, daily snack and the weekly excursion. The camp hours are 9:30am - 3:30pm and extended care is available from 7am-9:30am and 3:30pm - 6:00pm respectively.
The traditional camp will give youth an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy holiday crafts and activities and participate in a weekly excursion.
Camp for Champs is a comprehensive camp for youth who have permanent physical and mental disabilities that limit their mobility and inhibit their participation in able-bodied programs. The youth represent a wide variety of diagnoses, including spina bifida, autism, down syndrome and other disabilities.
The excursions each week will be a combined trip to the AMC Theatre at Downtown Disney the first week and the Long Beach Aquarium the second week.
