City's Graffiti Reporting and
Street Sweeping Parking Permits Go Online!
JULY 10, 2006 - The City of Downey, Department of Public Works, is proud to announce the availability of an online graffiti reporting and a street sweeping parking permit system.
For years, City of Downey residents have been able to help keep Downey beautiful by reporting graffiti sightings using an automated phone service. Now, residents can also report graffiti online. The new online graffiti reporting system will diminish the time needed to review voice recordings and increase the accuracy of the reports. As always, the reports will be acted on within 24 hours of receipt.
The Department of Public Works has also made the street sweeping parking permit system available online. Within ten days of submitting an application, residents will be informed, via e-mail, whether or not an application was approved. Upon approval residents need to come to City Hall to pay the permit fee and pick up the permit. The Street Sweeping Parking Permit fee is $16.00 per year and is prorated quarterly.
