 ForensicsForensic Specialists work in conjunction with Police Officers and Detectives on crime scene investigations and they are primarily engaged in the forensic identification, investigation and recovery of evidence. The Unit is comprised of one Forensic Supervisor and three Forensic Specialists.

This Unit is responsible for searching, collecting and preserving physical and biological evidence. Among other duties, they photograph and video record crime scenes, prepare crime scene diagrams, recover surveillance video and perform various analytical techniques such as chemical processing and analysis of latent prints, process evidence for DNA collection, video and audio reconstruction and facial recognition.

This Unit is also responsible for all digital forensic examinations and data recovery. They use the latest tools and technology to recover and analyze data from computers, cellular phones and any electronic devices capable of storing digital media.  They also testify on fingerprint analysis as well as evidence collection at crime scenes.
