The City of Downey offers a FREE summer workshop for 6th - 12th Grade girl students who reside in Downey.
The Girls on Fire Summer Camp addresses the unique set of challenges facing young girls through a series of interactive presentations, physical fitness activities, and Team building sessions led by female leaders in the community.
Participants learn:
- Self-Defense
- Cyber Bullying
- Internet Crimes/Legal Aspects
- Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle
- Building Self-Esteem
- Mental Health
- Job Skills
- Personal Finance 101
- Healthy Relationships
- Accessing Resources

- When: Saturday September 7, 2024
- Time: 8:30 AM - 2:20PM (Check-in Starts at 8:00 a.m.)
- Where: Downey City Library
