Economic Development directs programs and activities relating to business development, redevelopment, and affordable housing. Its efforts are focused on supporting and enhancing the overall economic well-being of the city and community by maintaining and improving the city's tax and job base. Economic Development works with retailers, restaurants, offices, commercial and industrial firms to promote quality businesses for the city.

Firestone Blvd. Area

The Firestone Boulevard area is the city's primary commercial corridor with home to many national tenants. The boulevard offers retail, office, restaurant, service and a variety of commercial uses. For more information, please contact Economic Development.

Downtown Area

The Downtown Area is the city's central business district anchored with a state of the art cinema and surrounded by quaint small shops. Development opportunities present themselves in the business district and in areas along the Firestone Boulevard. Main commercial area is Downey Ave. and Firestone Boulevard. Imperial Hwy Area

Imperial Highway is a 3 mile major arterial running east and west in the south part of the city. Development opportunities present themselves in the commercial areas along the boulevard. Main commercial areas are located at major intersection such as Imperial at Paramount Ave., Lakewood Blvd., Clark Ave., Bellflower Blvd., and Woodruff Avenue.
