During the Rain:

• Stay away from storm drain channels and areas subject to sudden flooding.
• Stay away from downed power lines and electrical wires. Report to Southern California Edison at 1-800-611-1911.
• Do not attempt to cross a flowing stream of water. Even shallow water can sweep you off your feet.
• Do not drive through flooded streets, and avoid needless trips.
• Report flooded streets, clogged catch basins, and potholes in your neighborhood by :
  • Calling the Department of Public Works at 562-904-7194
  • Submitting an online service request (https://downeygis.org/ServiceRequestR/ServiceRequest/Add ServiceRequest.aspx)
  • Using the MyDowney App
• If necessary, obtain sandbags for flood-prone property.
