The City of Downey is honoring the brave men and women serving in the Armed Forces through a Military Banner Program. The program is designed to support, recognize, and express appreciation for Downey residents currently active in the U.S. Military. To qualify for the program, honorees must meet two general guidelines:

1. The honoree must be on active duty with a United States military service branch.
2. The honoree must be a Downey resident or family member of a Downey resident or have been a resident for some period before age 21.

The Military Banner Program is supported through donations. Family members, residents, organizations, and business owners can make donations in any amount to honor an individual for their service.

Each banner will list the honorees’ name and branch of service and will be proudly displayed throughout the City.
