Class registration begins as defined each season for all class dates listed in Parks & Recreation Guide (unless otherwise specified) on a first come, first served basis, until the classes are filled.

Sign-up early for classes, avoid the cancellation of classes due to low enrollment before the first day/night of class to ensure that the teachers meet their minimums. Registration must be completed by the second class meeting; no prorating of class fees.

Registration will not be accepted by the instructors. Outdoor class starting dates are subject to change due to weather conditions.

The City of Downey, Parks & Recreation Department, intends to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you are disabled and need special accommodations to participate in any of the departments' programs, please notify us at least two weeks prior to the start of the desired program and we will attempt to reasonably respond to your needs.

Program registration can be completed and fees can be paid online by credit card (unless otherwise noted). You will need a valid e-mail address to register online. Program registration can be completed and fees paid in person by cash, check, or credit card.

Payment

Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express will be accepted as a form of payment for all activities offered by the Department. This will include: facility reservations, class and sports leagues registrations, excursions, special events, special services, and any other fee activity unless otherwise specified.

Resident/Non-Resident Rate

To be eligible for the City of Downey resident rate for Parks & Recreation classes a valid driver's license or California ID or current utility bill with registrants name and City of Downey address must be shown at time of registration.

Refund Policy

The City will issue a refund, less 30% for processing, if a refund request is made prior to the first class date. No refunds will be made after the first class. Refunds made by check will be mailed within two to three weeks after request in the form of a check. Refunds for payments made by credit card will be refunded to your credit card.
