Starting July 1, 2023, Wilderness Park will begin collecting its weekend, non-resident $5 parking fares, via automated parking meters located in the North and South parking lots.
Downey Residents
- Visit the Parks and Recreation Department Office to obtain a FREE yearly parking permit
- To expedite the process, the permit application form can be downloaded here:
- There is a two permit limit per household.
- Permits are valid when parking in Wilderness parking lots (North & South).
- Parking Permits must be affixed to vehicle's front/Rear window or rear bumper.
- Parking Permits are valid through December 31, 2024, and must be renewed every year after.
- If you do not have a valid parking permit visible on your vehicle you will be subject to citation by Code Enforcement.
Non-Residents
- The $5.00 Non-resident parking fees will now be paid using automated pay stations on Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday Holidays.
- Debit and major credit cards accepted
- No Cash accepted
- Receipts must be left on the dashboard in a visible location
- Vehicles without a visible receipt in their car will be subject to citation by Code Enforcement.
The Parks and Recreation office is open Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
