Starting July 1, 2023, Wilderness Park will begin collecting its weekend, non-resident $5 parking fares, via automated parking meters located in the North and South parking lots.

 Downey Residents

  • Visit the Parks and Recreation Department Office to obtain a FREE yearly parking permit
  • To expedite the process, the permit application form can be downloaded here:
  • There is a two permit limit per household.
  • Permits are valid when parking in Wilderness parking lots (North & South).
  • Parking Permits must be affixed to vehicle's front/Rear window or rear bumper.
  • Parking Permits are valid through December 31, 2024, and must be renewed every year after.
  • If you do not have a valid parking permit visible on your vehicle you will be subject to citation by Code Enforcement.

Non-Residents

  •  The $5.00 Non-resident parking fees will now be paid using automated pay stations on Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday Holidays.
  • Debit and major credit cards accepted
    • No Cash accepted
  • Receipts must be left on the dashboard in a visible location
  • Vehicles without a visible receipt in their car will be subject to citation by Code Enforcement.

 

The Parks and Recreation office is open Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
