Link Buses at the Bus Stops at the Transit DepotHours

The City of Downey’s public transit system, Downey LINK, operates Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm with four circulating routes. All routes begin and end at the Downey Depot Transportation Center located at 8150 Nance Street (one block south of Firestone Blvd. off Downey Avenue). MV Transportation provides contracted services on behalf of the City of Downey.

Downey LINK operates weekdays. It is not available on Saturdays and Sundays or the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas 

Routes (Peak Time)

The Downey LINK has four routes within the city that operate Monday - Friday: 6:30am-9:00am and again 2:00pm-6:30pm.

Between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. the Downey Link will offer modified routes with the Northwest and Northeast combining into just the NORTH route and the Southeast and Southwest combining into just the SOUTH route.

Routes (Special Events)

Downey LINK routes may be impacted by special event street closures.

Fares 

The fare is fifty cents (.50¢ ) a ride or one Downey LINK bus ticket.

Transfers to the other Downey LINK routes when transfers are sequential are free. Riders may transfer from one Downey LINK route to another—ask the Driver for a transfer. (Note: Metro transfers or passes are not accepted on Downey LINK and Downey LINK transfers are not valid for use on Metro vehicles.)

Downey LINK bus tickets are sold in a booklet of 30 use tickets for $15.  Bus ticket booklets are available for sale at the Transit Depot and the cashier counter at Downey City Hall.

Persons with a disability with a valid ACCESS Services identification card ride free.

Additional Downey LINK Information

Downey LINK buses are equipped with bike racks and wheelchair lifts.  

Small children cannot ride the Downey LINK in a stroller. They must sit in a seat and use the seatbelt or if sitting on an adult lap, the adult holds the child and they’re both belted in with the seatbelt.
