Sewer System Management Plan

The State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) requires publicly owned sanitary sewer systems to develop and implement a Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP).  The SSMP serves as a plan to manage, operate, and maintain the City’s sanitary sewer system and to help reduce and prevent emergency spills, as well as mitigate any sewage spills that do occur. The City maintains and periodically updates its SSMP in accordance with SWRCB requirements. You may access the City’s current SSMP by clicking on the link below.  Should you have any comments or questions related to the SSMP, please contact the Public Works Department at 562-904-7110.
