Home MenuEnvironmental Planning
As required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the City of Downey conducts environmental review of all public and private development projects before they are scheduled to be considered by the Planning Commission. The required environmental documents include Environmental Impact Reports (EIR's) and Negative Declarations (ND's). Any concerns to have a possible effect on the environment will be addressed in these reviews. Some of the issues to be reviewed include traffic and noise impacts, air pollution, aesthetic, public services, etc. Once complete, the report will be circulated for public review and comment before it is adopted by the Planning Commission.
